She smiled and thanked him and made a small bun then of wet hair and put it on the catcher.
“Let’s go. Everyone will be waiting.”
Shaughta went towards then the door but Iman stood there. She was getting nervous but had to go. Thus, If not today then tomorrow she had to face everyone.
“Why did you stop? Let’s go.”
Shaughta opened the door and then looked back, she was standing there snapping her fingers.
“Yes. I’m coming.”
She fastened the well-fitting dupatta then on her head once more and stepped forward. With a pounding heart, she followed Shaughta into the dining hall. Despite then her lowered gaze, she could feel the eyes on her. Along with the steps, his heartbeat was also increasing.

Shah Gul put his hand on the handle then of the chair next to him. She slowly walked and sat on the chair next to him. While everyone’s surprised eyes were more confusing then hers, their smiling lips gave her some encouragement. Only the elders of the house were present at that time.
“This is Ghaznavi’s father and your father-in-law Makram Ahmed. Thus, your mother-in-law Shamila, my eldest son Muazzam Ahmed and his spouse Siddiqa and with them Ghaznavi’s younger uncle Muzaffar Ahmed and Ghaznavi’s aunt Saima.”
Aqeela Begum introduced everyone. Everyone greeted then her with a smile. After some time they were all talking to her as if she was part of their family. Especially Ghaznavi’s father and then mother. Shah Gul also thanked God after seeing then the behavior of all of them. “چلیں چلتے ہیں۔۔سب انتظار کر رہے ہوں گے۔”
شگفتہ دروازے کی طرف بڑھی مگر ایمان وہیں کھڑی رہی۔وہ گھبراہٹ کا شکار ہو رہی تھی مگر جانا تو تھا۔۔آج نہیں تو کل سب کا سامنا کرنا ہی تھا۔
“آپ رک کیوں گئیں۔۔چلیں نا۔۔”
شگفتہ نے دروازہ کھول کر پیچھے دیکھا تو وہ وہیں کھڑی انگلیاں چٹخا رہی تھی۔
“جی۔۔آ رہی ہوں۔”
اس نے اچھے خاصے ٹھیک دوپٹے کو ایک بار پھر سر پہ اچھے سے جمایا اور قدم بڑھائے۔دھڑکتا دل لیے وہ شگفتہ کے پیچھے پیچھے ڈائننگ ہال میں داخل ہوئی تھی۔جھکی نظروں کے باوجود وہ خود پہ اٹھتی نظروں کو محسوس کر سکتی تھی۔اٹھتے قدموں کے ساتھ ساتھ اسکی دھڑکن بھی بڑھ رہی تھی۔
“وہ دیکھو۔۔۔میری بیٹی بھی آ گئی۔”
شاہ گل نے اسے آتے دیکھا تو “میری بیٹی” کہہ کر اسکا حوصلہ بڑھایا۔وہ مسکراتے ہوئے ان کی طرف بڑھی۔
“یہاں آؤ میرے پاس۔۔۔”
انھوں نے اپنی قریبی کرسی پہ ہاتھ رکھا۔
“السلام وعلیکم۔۔!!”
اس نے گھبراہٹ سے خشک پڑتے لبوں پہ زبان پھیری اور وہاں بیٹھے سبھی لوگوں کو سلام کیا۔وہ سب اسے حیران نظروں اور مسکراتے لبوں سے دیکھ رہے تھے۔
“وعلیکم السلام۔۔”
سبھی نے ایک آواز میں اسکے سلام کا جواب دیا تھا۔
“یہاں بیٹھو میرے پاس۔”

۔جہاں سب کی حیران نظریں اسے کنفیوز کر رہی تھیں وہیں ان کے مسکراتے لبوں نے اسے کچھ حوصلہ بھی دیا تھا۔اس وقت یہاں صرف گھر کے بڑے موجود تھے۔
“یہ غزنوی کے والد اور تمھارے سُسر مکرم احمد۔۔تمھاری ساس شمائلہ، میرے سب سے بڑے بیٹے معظم احمد
اور شریک حیات صدیقہ اور ان کے ساتھ غزنوی کے چھوٹے چچا مظفر احمد اور غزنوی کی چچی صائمہ ہیں۔”
عقیلہ بیگم نے سب سے تعارف کروایا۔سبھی نے مسکراتے ہوئے اسے خوش آمدید کہا تھا۔۔کچھ دیر بعد وہ سب اس سے یوں باتیں کر رہے تھے جیسے وہ انہی کی فیملی کا حصہ ہو۔۔خاص طور پر غزنوی کے والد اور والدہ اس سے بہت محبت سے پیش آ رہے تھے۔شاہ گل نے بھی ان سب کے رویوں کو
دیکھ کر خدا کا شکر ادا کیا۔حالانکہ جب شمائلہ کو معلوم ہوا تھا تو وہ خاموش ہو گئیں تھیں مگر اب ان کے چہرے کے سکون نے شاہ گل کو بھی پرسکون کر دیا تھا۔شمائلہ بیگم کو یہ نازک سی موہنی صورت والی لڑکی بہت پسند آئی تھیں۔گھر کے بڑوں کو عقیلہ بیگم نے ایمان کو درپیش حالات کے بارے میں بتا دیا تھا اور یہ بھی کہ کن وجوہات کی بناء پر انھیں یہ نکاح کروانا پڑا تھا۔شمائلہ بیگم ایک بہت نرم دل کی مالک خاتون تھیں
مگر بیٹے کے مزاج اور پسند ناپسند سے اچھی طرح سے واقف بھی تھیں۔ اپنی نرم طبیعت کے باعث انھیں ایمان سے ہمدردی محسوس ہو رہی تھی۔
“ریلیکس ہو کر بیٹھو ایمان بیٹا۔۔اسے اپنا گھر ہی سمجھو۔”
مکرم احمد نے ایمان کی ہچکچاہٹ محسوس کرتے ہوئے اس سے کہا۔وہ ان کی طرف شکریہ ادا کرتی نظروں سے دیکھ کر مسکرا دی
