“What, what did you say you are going to marry him?”
Kanwal repeated his words uncertainly
“Yes, I want to do it. It is not a sin to marry her and remarry.”
Asfand had answered
“Remarrying is not a sin at all, but can you pay the rights of both wives as soon as the second woman comes, she is not even married to you and you throw me and my son aside like garbage?” When she gets married and comes to this house, then you will throw me and my son out of this house.”
Kanwal had said in a wet tone that Armaan was standing near the door and tears were coming out of his eyes.
“Giving equal rights to both, etc., everything will be done. Anyway, I will not keep her in this house, I will take her to a separate house.”
Asfand answered and started to leave, but before he turned, Kanwal’s cold words echoed in his ears.

Kanwal said with a sigh
“Listen to me with open ears and then remember well that. I will never divorce you under any circumstances, even if I marry three times. But I can never leave you, never you. And Armaan will stay in this house, I will not let you both go from here.”
While raising his finger and warning, Isfand spoke in a delirious state. On which Kanwal got even more angry thinking that he wanted to make love to other girls and they were denying their rights.

Armaan was still standing in the doorway crying, while Isfand, who must have gone crazy, quickly approached Kanwal and raised his finger to warn her.

کنول نے بے یقینی سے اسکے الفاظ دہرائے تھے
“ہاں کرنا چاہتا ہوں میں اس سے شادی اور دوسری شادی کرنا کوئی گناہ نہیں ہے”
اسفند نے جواب دیا تھا
“بلکل دوسری شادی کرنا گناہ ہر گز نہیں ہے مگر کیا. آپ دونوں بیویوں کے حقوق ادا کر سکتے ہیں دوسری عورت کے آتے ہی ابھی وہ آپ کے نکاح میں بھی نہیں ہے. اور آپ نے مجھے اور میرے بیٹےکو کچرے کی طرح ایک طرف پھینک دیا تو جب وہ شادی کر کے اس گھر میں آئےگی تب تو آپ مجھے اور میرے بیٹے کو اس گھر سے ہی نکال دینگے ”
کنول نے بھیگے لہجے میں کہا تھا دروازے کے قریب کھڑے ارمان کی آنکھوں سے بھی آنسو نکلتے اسکے گالوں پہ پھسل رہےتھے
“دونوں کو برابر حقوق دینا وغیرہ وغیرہ سب ہوجائے گا میں ویسے بھی اسے اس گھر میں نہیں رکھوں گا الگ گھر لے کر دوں گا نور کو”
اسفند نے جواب دیا تھا اور وہاں سے جانے لگا تھا مگر مڑنے سے پہلے ہی کنول کے سرد لہجے میں کہے گئے الفاظ اسکے کانوں میں گونجے تھے
“ٹھیک ہے کرنا چاہتے ہو تم اس لڑکی سے شادی تو کر لو. اب سب ختم ہوچکا ہے تم آخری حد بھی پار کر چکے ہو اب مجھے تم سے کوئی امید نہیں رہی. مگر میری ایک بات کان کھول کر سن لو کہ اس لڑکی کے ساتھ نکاح سے پہلے تمہیں مجھے طلاق دینی پڑے گی. میں مزید تمہارے ساتھ رہنا نہیں چاہتی”
بولتے ہوئے کنول کے چہرے پر چٹانوں کی سی سختی چھا گئی تھی جبکہ طلاق کا لفظ سنتے ہی اسفند اپنی جگہ پہ واپس رک گیا تھا
“کیا کہا تم نے ؟, دوبارہ کہو ذرا کیا چاہئے تمہیں؟”
قدم قدم چل اسکے قریب آتے ہوئے اسفند نے خونخوار لہجے میں کنول سے پوچھا تھا. جو اب ڈٹ کر اس کے سامنے کھڑی تھی دروازے کے پاس کھڑے ارمان نے ڈر کر سختی سے دروازے کو دونوں ہاتھوں سے تھام لیا تھا. اسکا دل خوف و ہراس سے زور و شور سے دھڑک رہا تھا

“مجھے طلاق چاہئے نہیں رہنا چاہتی میں تمہارے ساتھ سنا تم نے میں مزید اپنی زندگی کا ایک ایک دن گھٹ گھٹ کر نہیں گزارنا چاہتی. تم تو سارا دن اس عورت کے ساتھ کے ساتھ ہوٹلوں میں پھرتے رہتے ہو. جبکہ میں یہاں گھر پہ سوچ سوچ کر خود کو ہلکان کرتی ہوں نہیں مرنا چاہتی میں یوں گھٹ گھٹ کر میں بھی اپنی زندگی میں آرام و سکون چاہتی ہوں اور میرے آرام و سکون کے لیے میرا بیٹا کافی ہے تم خوش رہو اپنی ہونے والی بیوی کے ساتھ میں اپنے بیٹے کے سہارے اپنی ساری زندگی گزار سکتی ہوں آذاد کر دو مجھے اس کھوکھلے رشتے سے”
کنول نے سسکتے ہوئے کہا تھا
“میری ایک بات کان کھول کر سن لو اور اچھی طرح سے ذہن میں بٹھا لو کہ میں تمہیں کبھی بھی طلاق نہیں دوں گا کسی صورت میں بھی نہیں چاہے میں تین شادیاں ہی کیوں نا کر لوں مگر میں تمہیں کبھی نہیں چھوڑسکتا کبھی بھی نہیں تم اور ارمان اسی گھر میں رہو گے کہیں نہیں جانے دوں گا تم دونوں کو یہاں سے”
انگلی اٹھا کر وارن کرتے ہوئے اسفند ہذیانی کیفیت میں بولا تھا جس پر کنول کو یہ سوچ کر مزید غصہ آیا تھا کہ خود چاہے دوسری لڑکیوں سے عشق معشوقی کرتا پھرے اور وہ اپنے حق کی بات بھی ناکریں۔
“سوچ ہے آپکی کہ آپ مجھے اس گھر میں باندھ کر رکھیں گے. اگر آپ نے مجھے طلاق نہیں دی تو میں خلع لے لوں گی آپ سے”
ارمان ابھی بھی روتے ہوئے دروازہ میں کھڑا تھا. جبکہ اسفند تو یقیناً پاگل ہو چکا تھا جو ایک ہی چست میں کنول کے قریب پہنچا تھا اور انگلی اٹھا کر اسے وارن کرتے ہوئے بولا تھا
“دوبارہ اگر طلاق کی بات بھی کی نا تو مجھ سے برا کوئی نہیں ہوگا. تمہیں طلاق دینے سے بہتر ہے کہ میں تمہیں اپنے ہاتھوں سے تمہیں مارڈالوں”
اسفند ابھی بول ہی رہا تھا جب ارمان نے ان دونوں کے درمیان حائل ہوتے ہوئے اپنی پوری طاقت لگا کر اسفند کو دھکہ دیا تھا۔
“دور رہے میری مما سے سنا آپ نے”
ماں کو تڑپتے دیکھ کر ارمان اسفند پہ پوری قوت سے چیخا تھا
